Tom's history as a sports podiatrist is extensive.

Graduating in 2004, Tom went on to complete a Masters in Podiatry. He also established his own private practice working exclusively in sports podiatry, and this has been operational in Adelaide for the past 15 years. Tom has also been active in research and consulting in areas such as AFL boot design, foot orthotic manufacture and lower limb biomechanics.

He is the current podiatrist to the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL/AFLW, has worked at the Commonwealth Games, consults to numerous international athletes across sports such as AFL/AFLW, Athletics, Soccer, Netball, Hockey and Triathlon, and is a current lecturer in Sports Podiatry at the University of South Australia.

Director of The Biomechanics Lab, Dr Chris Bishop PhD, said this:

"When I founded The Biomechanics Lab, it was always my vision to foster an environment the bought together the very best researchers and clinicians to provide our patients the very best in podiatry care. Securing Tom allows us to build on our existing strengths in biomechanics, gait analysis and orthopaedics and now provide our patient with the best sports podiatry care available."

On his appointment, Tom had this to say:

"It is with great excitement that I join The Biomechanics Lab. Chris and I have discussed this for many years and the timing was right. The opportunity to work with not just the wider TBL team, but to also utilise state-of-the-art gait analysis technology and dedicated rehabilitation facilities in patient management, provides me the opportuntiy to continue to provide the very best in sports podiatry management.

Tom joins Chris as a Director at The Biomechanics Lab from Monday July 1st 2019. He will be consulting in a full-time capacity around his teaching and club commitments.
