Current Vacancy: Sports and Exercise Podiatrist

The Biomechanics Lab (TBL) is looking to employ a passionate podiatrist with a strong interest in biomechanics, sports injury and orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation to join its expanding clinical team.

At The Biomechanics Lab (TBL), we believe you don’t have to be an elite athlete to be treated like one. We have taken our collective years’ experience in clinical practice and high-performance sport to develop a centre of excellence which provides our patients with everything they need to achieve their full potential. We do this through the integration of biomechanics and sports science into our clinical decision-making process. With the benefit of access to sports science and 3D gait analysis, as well as a dedicated team of biomechanists, sports scientists and biomedical engineers, our podiatrists have all the information they need to design, implement and deliver world-class treatments and rehabilitation programs for their patients.

THE ROLE

This role provides an opportunity for a suitably qualified podiatrist to join our growing team of sports and exercise podiatrists, physiotherapists, biomechanists and sports scientists to deliver patient services and rehabilitation across two key aspects of our business:

  1. You will join TBL’s orthopaedic rehab team. Working closely with one of Adelaide’s leading foot and ankle surgeons, you will contribute to the planning and deliver of pre- and post-operative treatment, rehabilitation and return to sport programs for patients with complex foot and ankle conditions. For those undergoing surgery, you will be responsible for their entire rehabilitation journey from the time they enter hospital and oversee their return to exercise and/or sport. Note this role requires in-hospital work and the flexibility to work evening lists on rotation.
  2. You will join the allied health and performance team at PEAQ Performance. Based at Hendon (adj West Lakes), PEAQ Performance is a state-of-the-art, 1500sqm bespoke High-Performance facility that benefits from a multi-D approach to health care (onsite podiatry, biomechanics, physiotherapy, dietetics

The role is flexible and can be offered on a part-time (min 3- days per week) or full-time basis subject to the preferred candidates’ preferences and skills matrix. Location will be split between our Norwood and Hendon clinics, as well as across our hospital network (Burnside and St Andrew’s Hospitals). Salary will be negotiated based on clinical experience and proven clinical performance.
