We work with you, Dr Mike Smith and your wider health team to oversee your ongoing rehabilitation following surgery. Right from the time you have any sutures and dressings removed at Orthopaedics 360, it is important we have a plan in place together to ensure you achieve the mobility and strength required for pain-free function and return to exercise.
Dr Smith would provide you clear instructions following your surgery that will help us guide the development of your rehabilitation program. Please ensure you provide these instructions to our Reception team on arrival for your appointment so these can be added to your file.
Although you may still be required to wear a Cam boot or Darco post-surgery for a few more weeks, please ensure you bring all footwear and orthotics you desire to wear to ensure we can approve them to be appropriate for wear during your rehabilitation program.
Our podiatrists require access to review all imaging used as part of the surgical planning and review process. This assists them in designing an appropriate rehabilitation plan for you. Providing details of any doctors, specialists or related health care providers, ensures we communicate with your wider team about your progress.
Dr Smith will be responsible for any post operative suture or bandage removal. Please contact his rooms if you have any queries relating to your wound care.
Your recovery from surgery will be dependent on various factors including the complexity of your surgery in addition to how well your body responds to rehabilitation. We tailor an individualised plan to restore your joint mobility, muscle strength & overall lower limb function based on your long term goals.
