A Syndesmosis Repair is a procedure used to stabilise the ligaments between the tibia and fibula following injury to the ankle joint (i.e. high ankle sprain). It is performed to restore stability, protect healing tissues, and support a safe return to movement and function. In addition to wearing your boot for the next 3-4 weeks, we also require you to begin rehabilitation. Rehabilitation will promote a fast recovery, prevent deficits in walking and strength, and decrease stiffness during the early post operative phase. Please see the key exercises we need you to perform below. Refer to the handout for specific repetitions and sets per day.
