Achilles Repair

An Achilles Tendon repair is a surgical procedure used to reattach and restore the integrity of a torn or ruptured Achilles tendon. It is performed to re-establish tendon continuity, improve strength and function, and support a safe return to walking and activity. In addition to wearing your boot for the next 2-3 weeks and staying non weight-bearing, we also require you to begin rehabilitation. Rehabilitation will promote a fast recovery, prevent deficits in walking and strength, and decrease stiffness during the early post operative phase. Please see the key exercises we need you to perform below. Refer to the handout for specific repetitions and sets per day.
